Understand Your Dog – a course on canine needs, behavior, communication, and health ​ Language: English Duration: - This course gives you the essential knowledge that makes everyday life with your dog easier, clearer, and more predictable. It’s suitable for both new and experienced dog owners, as well as those who work—or wish to work—with dogs in animal-assisted services (AAS). ​ What you’ll learn 1. How dogs learn - learning theory Get a practical introduction to learning theory and how experiences shape behavior. Learn how your dog learns best, how to use positive reinforcement correctly, and how to train calmly and effectively in daily life. 2. Dog body language Learn to read subtle and clear signals in your dog’s body language. This helps you recognize stress, uncertainty, joy, and anticipation—and communicate clearly in return. 3. Dog health Learn to identify early signs of pain or strain, what’s considered normal behavior, and how to prevent injuries and stress. You’ll get simple routines for daily observation, grooming, and activity adjustment. 4. The human–dog relationship Discover what builds safety, cooperation, and mutual trust. Small changes in how we interact with our dogs can make a big difference in daily life.
