Dr. Sandra McCune Chapman

Visiting Professor at the University of Lincoln

Sandra is a Visiting Professor at the University of Lincoln in the School of Psychology and the School of Life Sciences. She is the founding director of Animal Matters Consultancy Inc., providing expert input on a wide range of animal issues. She is a SCAS trustee and a Fellow of the Annenberg PetSpace Leadership Institute. Until early 2019, she was a scientific leader for Mars Petcare, part of Mars Inc. Based at The Waltham Petcare Science Institute in the U.K., for 12 years she led the Human-Animal Interaction area and established Mars as the industry’s thought leader in this field.


Highly skilled at developing global partnerships, with a proven track record of development and delivery of collaborative research programmes in the field of life-sciences to increase competitive advantage. Extensive global network within the animal behaviour and welfare, veterinary and human-animal interaction research fields, skilled at strategic thinking, project planning and organisation.
